Life's moments

One moment you feel like you're soaring through the sky, the other, your wings are wounded, grounded and tired of life itself.

Foot Reflex and Steamboat

Sunday Bball season resumed. We played till 1pm. The nurse FFK last min. Didn't go to sentosa as planned. Pork also had tuition. Jason came over and we slacked at my place for an hour before deciding to go Bishan for McDonalds. Moved on to Chinatown for massage. Went to my usual feet reflex place to do a 45 mins treatment.

"Jason in pain"
"Hit the spot"
Jason got a female therapist, Lily, i got a male therapist, Steven. Apparently Lily has the strength to make Jason squirm.
Met up with Lisa after that for steamboat.
"Void Deck"
"Tanks act sian"
Did not take any photos of the steamboat session though. Too busy eating. After that we went L4D ! Lisa's first time playing, and no suprises there, she was screaming most of the time.

The things people will do for love

There are many strange things people will do for love, or at least in the name of love. Sometimes, it makes you wonder if the things people do for love is admirable or just plain stupidity. Giving one's all isn't a bad thing, but blindly giving one's all irrationally is just absurd !

Sometimes, love just ain't enough to justify the things you do. When you see it from another perspective, perhaps all the giver wants is appreciation from the receiver. Its probably the greatest satisfaction one can get.

Have you done anything for love recently ?

The Amazing Race 14 Winners ! Victor and Tammy !

I know this post is a little late .. but CONGRATS to Victor and Tammy Jih for claiming The Amazing Race 14 crown !

The quote of the entire race this season is definitely from Victor in Episode 9 which is also the title of that episode.

"Our Parents Will Cry Themselves to Death" – Victor

below is their interview from TV Guide

TVGuide.com: Is your family relieved you didn't bring shame to them on the China legs?

Tammy: [Laughs] They are very, very happy! Let's be honest, they would've been proud of us no matter the outcome, but they were extra-proud of us because of the outcome.

TVGuide.com: There's been a lot of talk that it was unfair you knew Mandarin in China, but producers couldn't have possibly known you would've made it that far.

Victor: Yeah, we almost were out in Leg 3! When we looked at the teams on Day 1, we were astonished at how competitive, articulate, athletic and tall they were. Everyone has their strengths and we didn't think anyone was a sure thing and we needed a task that was easier for us. The choreography task — none of us even touched it because we said we are not playing against Jaime and Cara, who are trained dancers. It just took us the entire Race before we got our task.

TVGuide.com: Do you think people forget that even though you could communicate with people in Mandarin, you were still at the mercy of the tasks? The dive/swim took you guys a while.

Victor: We dived for a really long time. And even getting to the foot-massage place, we talked to the taxi driver fine, but when we arrived, we were the last ones there. ... I was just proud because we were both born in the United States, lived in the United States our entire lives, and every day of our childhood was a fight with our mom, forcing us to speak Chinese. I went to kindergarten not knowing how to say "Can I go to the bathroom?" in English. I think it's great to vindicate all of her efforts and take advantage of it.

Tammy: She dealt with our temper tantrums all the time. We just wanted to speak English like everyone else and she forced us to speak Chinese at home and it paid off and it was wonderful that it paid off on Mother's Day [when the episode aired].

Victor: If only my mom forced my sister to practice cartwheels, carry a pig... [Laughs]

TVGuide.com: It seemed like you learned from your meltdown in Romania. How did you approach the Race differently?

Tammy: We learned we needed to put aside our issues and work together as teammates. Does that mean we didn't have issues? No. We saved it for after the leg or waiting in airports.

TVGuide.com: Did you think, being stuck behind the car on the highway and in third place, that you lost and Margie and Luke could've left the Roadblock already?

Victor: I was emotionally happy, like I'm happy for either if they win. Both of them are great competitors. I was preparing to be in third. Part of me thought there was a glimmer of hope. I just need there to be another task, I just need something nerdy and suitable for us because we're total nerds, and I need it to be really hard so that they get stuck on it. No one could've predicted for what happened at the Roadblock to happen — especially for Luke. He was born for The Amazing Race. It was tough watching it with him because it really should've been his task. We did not underestimate him at all. It took me about 20 or 30 minutes. Just physically moving them around took a long time. Luckily, I was thinking clearly.

Tammy: I think we both resigned ourselves to finishing third at that point, but Victor just breezed through that. He's really good under pressure and with problem-solving.

TVGuide.com: Were you certain you had it in the bag when you got into the cab?

Tammy: When we first got in, we were so shocked that we go from resigned to losing to going to thinking we might have a chance we might win. Victor did bring us back to reality by saying they're strong teams and anything could happen.

Victor: There was a hidden task that wasn't aired. We had to find this statue and it took us a little bit to find that, and it was a little bit of a drive to the golf course. We were cautiously optimistic.

TVGuide.com: You said Margie and Luke were tough competitors, so why didn't you U-Turn them?

Tammy: It's a nerdy answer, but I thought that even though Margie and Luke were stronger overall, I didn't think they had a competitive edge over us in any way. Jen and Kisha, I mean, look at them. They are Division I athletes. They are incredibly athletic. They outran us twice in the legs coming up to the U-Turn.

Victor: We talked about it the night before. Tammy very wisely said, "Let's not make it personal." Because we liked all the teams and we made it purely based on strategy.

TVGuide.com: What are you going to do with your $1 million?

Tammy: I'm going to pay off my law school loans! [Laughs] I might buy myself a treat here and there, but most of it is going to my student loans.

Victor: It's not a fun answer, but in this economy, we're lucky to be in the position we're in.

TVGuide.com: What's next for you? Back to work on more cases?

Victor: Oh, yeah, back to work. We got away, but I love my job and we're so grateful they let us do this. I think going away and doing something so crazy just makes you appreciate what you have on a daily basis and what we have is awesome.

Swine Flu

Fragrances

I've got alot of friends asking me about the scents i use and what I would recommend to them.

Ever since i was in secondary school, i started using deodorants, being an active boy, always sweating, i wanted somthing to destroy the odors from sweat, so i started "investing" in my first deodorant spray from slazenger, it was cheap, good and long lasting.

Subsequently, i couldn't find in the markets anymore, the only place that sold it was freaking suntec's carrefour. So i switched to adidas sprays. Adidas deodorants are really expensive considering my usage consumption but i managed to source from a cheaper supplier.

Drodorants, i'll use them during bball sessions or just a quick run to the shop nearby. I always, and i mean ALWAYS use a little deodorant even when i'm just going out for a while. Singapore's weather is a bitch, sun=hot=sweat=smelly, so deodorants are good and cheap ways of smelling nice.

Then after a couple of years, it seemed odd if i keep using deodorants for every occasion. So i started looking into colognes, perfumes, scented water, whatever you wish to call them. I know that each term had a certain percentage of nice smelling agent to be labelled under each category. For this post, i shall call them perfume.

The first perfume i got was hugo boss, boss in motion, the spherical looking thingee whereby you have to press the bottom up to spray a fizz out. I tried it because it was designed for people who sweat alot, like me. But it wasn't that good, i liked it for a while but later found it to be too musky.

Hugo Boss - Boss in Motion - 2*

As i grew fatter and worked out less, i looked at perfumes that were less "athletic" and more casual. Thats when i found one of my all time favourite. Escada Sentiment. The male's scent is the one in the dark red bottle. When i first used that, i knew then it would be one of my top few scents. Fruity, light and very alluring.

Escada - Sentiment - 4 and a half*

When i got together with june, i was introduced to Calvin Klein and Kenzo perfumes. She has been using CK Be coz its probably one of the few perfumes that come in 200ml bottles. It was all right, standard scent nothing much to shout about. Then on one of my birthdays, she got me CK Truth, an oddly shaped bottle slanted to one side. I did not really like CK Truth the initial few sprays, but the thing about CK Truth is that it gets to you, the scent wearer, not sure how others would feel. CK Truth was quite musky with wood spices. I tried CK Eternity soon after, not the regular Eternity that looks very much like pee but Eternity Summer ! Oh yes, the summer editions of CK Eternity is good. Very fresh, very medowy feel and lasts long too. But the thing about CK Eternity summer, ever year they come out with a different summer scent, although the scent is about the same for year 2007 and 2008, this year's scent was slightly different, more flora, slightly muskier. I got another CK perfume last year, given to me by my uni friends, i have yet to open and try it as i've got alot of currently opened and unused ones.

Calvin Klein - Be - 2 and a half *
Calvin Klein - Truth - 3*
Calvin Klein - Eternity Summer - 4*
Calvin Klein - in2U - unknown (not yet tested)

Kenzo perfumes, i'm only a user of one, which is Kenzo Air. Very very light scent, not musky at all, goes well with casual clothes on a sunny day.

Kenzo - Air - 3 and a half*

I tried my first "slightly" more expensive perfume, Bvlgari. A couple of years back, Bvlgari introduced their new scent, Bvlgari Aqua. Shaped like a pebble, i bought one without much consideration. It was good ! It was slightly muskier than my usual perfumes, aquatic and more distinct and has a very unique smell. Justifies the price.

Bvlgari - Aqua - 4*

Another perfume that got my attention when it was first introduced was DKNY's Be Delicious, i know many of you know it as the "apple" perfume. Yes, the bottle is shaped like an apple, like the Big Apple, New York. If i remembered it correctly, it was formulated to give off the New York scent, what ever that scent is. I got light green bottle one, but i do prefer the female version, the one in red, not pink, but red. Intense fruity smell. One of my favourites. Expensive though, but it justisfies the price too.

Donna Karen New York - Be Delicious - 4 and a half*

I have a couple more scents not opened yet. Some are gifts and some i have yet to try it out.
Mont Blanc, Hilfiger, Esprit.

I am currently using rotating the use of 3 different scents now, CK Eternity Summer, Escada Sentiment and Kenzo Air.

There are perfumes that i would like to buy and try, but have yet to. On top of that list is Polo Double Black. I have a small 10ml tester, it got me on my first spray. Then there is the Burberry collection, with their signature checkered design. I would also like to try the very famous davidoff Cool water, as well as Diesel Fuel for Life.

Perfume for females, I'd probably give my top 5 perfumes that i like. To smell that is.

1) Polo Ralph Lauren - Romance, no doubt about it, one of the best women's frangrances around. Very suitable for "pak-toring" girls and fresh grads going into the work force.

2) DKNY - Be Delicious, refer to above

3) Chanel - No5, yes, this kick ass perfume if suitable for those high power execs with domineering prescence.

4) Issey Miyake - L'eau d'Issey, because my ex girlfriend used this and i liked it.

5) Bvlgari - Blv Notte Pour Femme, seductive, sensual leaking femininity

So, what kind of fragrance are you using ?

small

I feel tired, this sudden overwhelming shag-ness sets in my bone.. i'm tired from teaching tired for being patient with kids .. i want to quit but the money is too good for me to refuse .. oh my god ! i feel so small now .. so insignificant ..

Too much gaming

I've had too much gaming this past few days, but nonetheless, i got back that fantastic feeling in counterstrike with jason and brian. I think if we had the addition of pork in the team, it would be fantastic !

Got sunburnt while playing ball 2 days back at jurong. thats fucked up.

Looking forward to this sunday for more gaming.

I must be going crazy
