Au Revoir Taipei

Finally had time to meet pork and black for a movie. While I was driving towards Cineleisure, we were deciding on The last Airbender or Inception. But as fate would have it, I made an impromptu decision to watch Au Revoir Taipei. And it was an awesome choice.

The movie was awesome !

Au Revoir Taipei to me is Taiwan's answer to Ethan Hawke's Before Sunrise, where everything happened in a night. Of course the difference being that they met in the book store a couple of times before and more comedy is thrown in making it an awesome movie.

Romantic comedy is a tricky genre to make a film about and I'm pretty demanding as I do enjoy romantic comedies. But the filmmaker Arvin Chen 陳駿霖 has combined humor and light-hearted characters with good character developement to produce this charming piece of work that'll put a smile on your face as you walk out of the theater.

Side track a little .. For the first time, Pork, black and I eached liked a different girl from the movie. That's pretty awesome. I liked the cute Amber Kuo 郭采潔, pork liked the police's frustrated wife Peggy Tseng 曾佩瑜 while the black liked the convenience store girl, Vera Yen.

Just resist the urge to take up lindy hop after watching this movie :D
